Check valve or presure switch opening (cracking, burst) pressure test using air.
Do you manufacture a pressure switch and need to control its contact closure/opening pressure?
Do you manufacture a check valve or safety valve and need to control at which pressure it opens and closes?
Do you need to do a sample destructive burst test on your product?
ATEQ has a standard instrument for that, the ERD , so there is no need to reinvent the wheel and pay for development costs on a custom made tool, and get the associated debugging problems .
For more details on the instrument , see the PDF brochure ATEQ ERD
If your application does not fall within the standard pressure ranges, ATEQ can also make alterations to the standard instrument base. For example the tester design was customized for a very low differential pressure pressure switch application for a client.
For both tests, there would be air presssure ramping up , and optionally also a test with the pressure ramping down.
On a pressure switch ,the instrument would detect a contact closure or opening and record the pressure at which the contact change occured. It would then compare the pressure to pre set limits and declare the part "pass" or "fail".
On a safety valve or check valve, the instrument would detect a change in the air flow coming out of the check valve, in order to detect the opening, record this pressure, and compare it to two pre set limits to declare the valve to be a "pass" or "fail".
For the destructive (burst) test of a plastic pouch for example, the process would be the same as for a check valve, but of course there are safety requirements added to the fixture design in order to protect the operator.
ATEQ used its experience in industrial air flow test and pressure decay test to design this tester.
It was developped on the same proven hardware basis and rugged hardware components used by the other ATEQ quality control instruments (leak and flow testers), so the spare parts are readily available in ATEQ service offices worldwide.
